Taiyuan Coal Gasification releases 2008 annual reportPublished: 19 Feb 2009 00:00:00 PSTFeb. 19, 2009 (China Knowledge) — Taiyuan Coal Gasification Company Ltd<000968> today released its 2008 annual report, showing a rise in business growth in 2008, sources reported.The company realized RMB 4.735 billion in operating income and RMB 684 million in net profit, up 38.21% and 117.84%, respectively. Earnings per share (EPS) were RMB 1.33 The company will issue a dividend of about RMB 2.00 per 10 shares (including tax) to all shareholders.According to the annual report, the company’s profit growth was mainly caused by the high market price of coal in the first three quarters of last year. However, in the fourth quarter of 2008, the financial crisis impacted domestic steel enterprises, which indirectly resulted in reduced demand for coal in the domestic market. In 2008, the liabilities of the company amounted to about RMB 1.87 billion.A plan to issue up to RMB 1 billion in corporate bonds has been approved by the company’s board of directors.
