Fosun releases annual report for 2008Published: 13 Mar 2009 01:58:43 PSTMar. 13, 2009 (China Knowledge) — Fosun International Ltd (Fosun)<656>, China’s largest privately owned conglomerate, yesterday released its annual report for 2008, which shows net profit surges in its core businesses, namely the mining sector and the traditional Chinese medicine sector.In 2008, the company generated net profit of RMB 1.29 billion and RMB 261 million from its mining sector and its traditional Chinese medicine sector, up 117% and 58% year on year, respectively.However, Fosun’s net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 1.33 billion, down 60.4% from a year earlier. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at RMB 0.21.
